Friends Are Wonderful

My dear friend from high school and her family visited us this weekend. It was a surprise for her 14 year old son Paul, who is a devoted member of Red Sox Nation. Although he has grown up in Maryland, his mother indoctrinated him well!! They had come up last year and we went on a tour of Fenway Park, but didn't see a game. This time my friend Linda, her husband Phuong and birthday boy Paul, came to Foxborough on Friday, we all went to a game on Saturday night and then they were going to the game on Sunday with another local friend.

Saturday is POURED rain all day. But we decided to drive into the game anyway and give it a whirl. By the time we got to Yawkey Way, it stopped raining and we got the whole game in. To make it even better, after a very rocky start, and a 37 minute second inning ( I thought we would be sleeping over at that rate) the Red Sox beat the Cleveland Indians 11 - 6.

Here is some pictures of them taking the cover off the infield - it was fun to watch.

Besides the Red Sox, we did visit the Patriot's Hall of Fame at Gillette Stadium earlier in the day. I do live in Foxborough (Where the stadium is located and the Patriots play all their home games)!!
The best things to look at were the Superbowl Rings and the trophies.
So we got in some baseball and some football all in one weekend!!
Enjoy the pictures of the Superbowl bling below. The ring size on these ring was enormous! Makes you realize what really big guys these players are. This ring is from Superbowl XXXIX, Feb 2005 Patriots beat the Eagles. Lots of diamonds in this baby!
