TQS January BOM and Ankle Update

Went back to work this week. Just Thursday and Friday. Thursday, felt great, and went to Colleen's (DD) swim meet. She cut 34 seconds off her 1000 yd FreeStyle, and they won the meet so she was very happy. But that made a long day - so by about 3 pm on Friday afternoon I was exhausted. I have the office set up so I can lay on the floor at lunch and put my foot up on a chair with a pillow on it. Managing the swelling is a big issue.
Over the weekend, I spent more time walking without crutches. Feel like I'm 100 years old, but I can get around.

Got my hair done on Saturday and waxing on all the hairy face parts!! I feel human again.

The picture is of the January Block of the month for The Quilt Show (www.thequiltshow.com)
I was going to try to use just stash fabrics, but I don't think that will work. The Asian fabrics don't seem to blend well with "regular" fabrics, but we'll see. The next step is to put the block on point, add a floating boarder, then a 4 block border and another floating border. I think I will bring in the maroon/red, the turquoise, the black and the light mauve/tan. It will be a process to move forward.

Also got a draft of the taxes done so I could do Colleen's FAFSA application. We don't get any money under any scenario but we need to submit to keep her scholarship. Looks like we get money back, so I will try to do the real detail tax return next weekend.
