Well, the last blog was the day after I lost my job. What a ride.
It is now mid-June. I have finished outplacement - that was useful. I was fortunate in that I had access to a high level outplacement firm for 3 months - Keystone Associates. I had a great counselor - Elaine. We have agreed to stay in touch so that is great when I get interview opportunities.
I had an interview last week with a target company. I was interested in a Business Analyst position. However, when I went in for the interview, I was offered the opportunity to interview for a Manager position. This was great. The salary will be more in line with what I was previously earning.
I am waiting with baited breath for the call for the second interview. Have had the email requesting available times - now it is just the scheduling.
I am still not comfortable with the networking process. Talking to people I know is fine. People I don't know - not so much. But I will keep working at it.
I am trying to structure my summer so I don't drop the job search all together, but get some free time. I have not "not worked" during the summer since I was 13 years old!! I am due a summer off.
I have decided to separate the posts between job, quilting and life. So there may be multiple posts in one day depending on the topic.
