Today is our 29th Wedding Anniversary. Seems like only yesterday to me, maybe not so much to DH!! But he is my best guy and I wouldn't trade him for all the tea in China as they say.
When I came home from church this morning I had these beautiful flowers and a card. We went to dinner last night in Providence RI and had a great meal. A tasting menu where you have 5 courses and wine pairings to go with it. You get to try a lot of different foods, and also different wines because the portions are very small - both food and wine.
We don't really do gifts anymore - it's kind of silly at this stage of life, but I love the flowers.
I am not a very good card person - so DH did not get a card. I have been feverishly working on some socks for him, but they are not finished yet. Hopefully soon. I needed a little something to match the flowers and the card.
So the next best thing is homemade chocolate chip cookies!! We have had a ban on all things sweet in the house for several weeks. I keep trying to loose weight and don't want the cookies or cakes or brownies around. But given there were no finished socks for a gift, he got the cookies!! This is about half the batch. I just used the standard Toll House Cookie recipe on the Nestles chocolate chip package.
The house smells incredible and now I just have to keep myself from eating too many.
